What software configuration do I need on my PC / laptop to run InfoCodex?

No special configuration is necessary; a standard browser is sufficient (Internet Explorer, Firefox/Mozilla, Opera, Safari, etc.).

However, a browser plug-in must be installed for power users with specific processing needs (exporting search lists to Excel tables, uploading fixed categorization schemes, supplying front-end linguistic databases etc.). This plug-in can be quickly and easily downloaded from our Infocodex start page.

Can InfoCodex be integrated into other applications?

Due to its open structure and portability, InfoCodex is easily integrated into other environments.

The InfoCodex software is available in both stand-alone and in component forms (API modules, shared libraries) for embedding into other applications. Due to its generic structure, installation-specific "C/C++" or Java APIs are easily implemented; connecting to "J2EE Application Server (JSP)" or Perl modules is also possible.

The standard interface for the component version is XML-based. InfoCodex is also available as a web service using the SOAP protocol (e.g. for the integration into MS SharePoint).
